I thought that. Why march on a school day?
-

-
Exactly. Whatever the rights or wrongs of their cause.
-
I think its the whole point of the strike,

-
Julia wouldn't get that. She's not too bright

You don’t get strikes do you. Strikes are to make the point not to just convenience others
-
It’s not a strike
-
Strike / Demo Potatoe / Potato. Point still remains
-
As she says, not a strike.
-
As I replied a few times but thanks for playing

It wouldn’t be much of a protest if headteachers marched on Downing Street outside term-time. Duh.
-
Pretty sure the MP's have more holidays than any teachers...certainly longer in the summer.
-
This is just not true. Parliamentary recession is not holidays. You’ll find most of that time they are working in their constituencies. In fact you’ll find most MP’s work far longer hours than most of us do.
-
And most if not all teachers work summers, weekends and way into the night with prep and marking. Julia's glib comments serve no purpose other than to generate opposing views - which is sort of her job I suppose.
-
No they don’t work all of their summer holidays or even most of them. I know many teachers and they really don’t.
-
If you knew lots of teachers then you wouldn't have been so dismissive of their march to raise their legitimate concerns during a time of their choosing. Which, incidentally, has had a lot more publicity thanks to you highlighting it. I said work summers, not all summer.
-
Maybe you only dislike the ones you don't know. Seems to be a theme in your arguments.
-
Well if we’re talking reading comprehension I don’t think Julia said she dislikes teachers - whether she knows them or not.

They aren’t short of money just bad management and greed. It’s political because they are all uber lefties.
-
Any children or grandchildren in education at present, Erica?
-
Yes and used to work in a senior school.
-
Then you will be well versed in the current per pupil funding cuts, rising class sizes and TA redundancies directly affecting your family. I don’t think any teacher in state education right now can be accused of greed. They are chasing scraps.
-
Never mentioned the teachers. I was referring to the financial management or lack of it.
-
“They aren’t short of money?” refers to.....?
-
Schools (which have their own financial management staff) not teachers.
-
A headteacher manages his/her budget!
