Why do you say that Julia?

At a time when people feel worried about how lawless Britain is unfolding , they are looking at the Police for reassurance that the streets are safe for our kids etc. Not a police officer dressed up like a total fruitcake and wasting funds that could be used to fight crime

Is engaging with our LGBT community during a pride event, which the office would be at in any case not a good use of time? How do you quantify engagement and building relationships with communities we have struggled to in the past?
-
Do the LGBT community respond particularly well to bees? I'm so confused.
-
The bee is linked to Manchester, hense why it’s a bee. A lot of police forces have mascots / characters, this is just one of ours.

Fair enough. Do you find that the LGBT community prefer their engagement with the police to be via the medium of bees, or are there other ways you speak to them?
-
I think people like to see that police have a human side too, and will to engage in many different ways. I don’t see people complaining during other pride parades and events through the country.

Does dressing as a bee display a human side? Also, do we actually need to know that the police have a human side? Why do we need to know this?

Julia, ever since the Blair years cops must PROVE every year that they are promoting diversity. It gets harder every year, hence stuff like this.

Words fail me. Why oh why do we keep pandering to a small section of the community? Why are their rights more important than those who have been robbed or molested?
-
Where is that being implied?
-
In the picture. I don't see them dressing as shop assistants in support of those that put there safety on the line stopping shoplifters...
-
My expectation of the police is that they investigate crime, uphold the law and put away the bad guys, not to dress-up in fancy dress and cavort like carnival clowns.
-
What people volunteer to do in their own time to help build relations with the community is surely a good thing....
-
Are they doing it in their own time? Personally, I would far rather have a Police “Force” I could rely on to investigate crime and keep the streets safe. I’m not interested in a “Service” building relationships with the community.
