I'd prefer the right woman rather than any woman just to tick a box. We've had Thatcher and May who weren't very good (to put it mildly).
-
Yeah you’re right. Thatcher was only managed to be PM for 11 years and won only 3 landslide elections. Also had the temerity to rise to the top of the Tory party despite them being at the time quite chauvinistic to say the least. Utterly useless for sure.
-
She wasn't a lefty though, was she? We're talking about Labour leaders.
-
Brings up Thatcher and May but only wants to talk about Labour, confused

-
Not sure but think this is normal nowadays.

I’m not sure you can call them men and women in the Labour Party now?
-
They are all 'things' now and by looking at some of the complete odd balls who have been on the platform 'things' is not a bad description

A 2nd deputy leader (reserved for a woman) is surely condescending to women, isn't it ?
-
Absolutely. It's paying lip service to equality.

Diane Abbott as said if she is not the leader of the Labour party by 1958 she will consider her future of remaining in politics and could finish her economics degree.

When they do have a 'woman' leader it'll be a bloke in a frock.

They have to keep Abbott out somehow
-
They should let her be leader. Even bloody ukip would beat them in a General election then
