Comrades, if you’re feeling triggered at the Labour Party conference, don’t worry, we’ve found the official #SafeSpace... #Lab2018 @talkRADIOpic.twitter.com/ssoJRpfvrJ

I'm autistic. If I need a safe space then this is great. If a person wanting some peace needs it, that's great too. If a journo wanting to make a crap joke needs it, that's great too. I genuinely don't care. Wailing and gnashing teeth on my behalf really gets my goat though!
-
Also, if I went in to have a meltdown and
@JuliaHB1 was in there making crap jokes, I'd have no recourse to insist she kindly fucks off. She could hang around while I lose my shit, or leave in an embarrassed sort of way, I'm used to both. There are no rules for this room. -
Of course, if there were rules, then no doubt someone, somewhere, would that somebody somewhere had been excluded for their disability or identity or some other reason. It's easier to just write "anyone" and mean it. Even if "anyone" means people you don't like.

This is pretty disrespectful from a wide variety of standpoints. Although I don't personally, plenty of people have panic attacks, need time away from the crowd at a conference like that. Some people have seizures, some need to pray, some might need to make private phone calls
-
Exactly- it’s a ridiculous thing for her to mock and sad if that’s all she can find to criticise. Anyway why is someone so right wing going anywhere near a Labour conference?
-
Simply, to mock . That's how sad her existence is . Complete lack of compassion will do that to a person though

Anyone can use a quiet space, even if it's initially for autistic people, for goodness sake.
#ActuallyAutistic people need it, yes, but you don't have to flash your Autism ID - people with anxiety, sensory processing, PTSD, or even just tired and overwhelmed may find it useful. -
This is some absolutely ableist rubbish, and as someone who needs a space like this, but probably wouldn't be clocked as
#ActuallyAutistic, your ableism and mockery of this space has a real, real negative impact. Thank you@UKLabour for providing a space for all of your members.

Perhaps you would find it helpful if the people with these hidden disabilities wore a nice bright bold badge so people like you can spot them and make sure that only people you think are deserving can use this room then

I think a normal human being would just think what a good idea and pass on by! Seems to me you’re the one that’s triggered

It's labelled "anyone" so those who need it do not feel "different" or embarrassed or singled out. Geddit?
-
Should change it to "All Humans" to keep the likes of Julia heartless brewer out.

Trying hard to make the world a nicer place as usual? Pretty pointless really - don't you have anything more constructive to contribute?

As opposed to 'This is a safe place reserved for...'? Wouldn't that look great in your next article. Labour Excludes X Y and Z from Safe Space.
