Dear politicians, We don’t want a snap general election. We don’t want a 2nd referendum. We don’t want Chequers. We just want the Brexit we voted for. Get on with it. Yours, Leave voters

43 years later we know for certaion that in 1975 the UK "public" did make a terrible mistake!
-
Guilty as charged. My excuse is the same as many Corbynistas will use in 40 years. I was young and naïve, but I have grown up now and know better.

Indeed, whatever the truth about this referendum, Brexit Or Remain lies, there is no doubt whatsoever we were lied to in 1975. It was a massive con and it’s led us to this debacle.
-
Totally agree, although the bit about free trade among the EEC was a good idea and essentially what people voted for at the time
-
Yes, P M Heath knew that only a few people would attempt to decipher the tiny print. All the talk at the time was “cheaper goods” who on earth wouldn’t vote for that?
-
Correct. And that's why I voted to Leave. I don't WANT political union. Nothing to do with immigration, or slogans on the side of a bus, or what Nigel Bloody Farage said. I have NEVER wanted the UK Parliament to become a parish council in a federal European superstate.

Cool. The 67% who voted for it in 75 can shove it then, because of the 52%?
-
We should've been asked before Maastricht. We DEFINITELY should've been asked before Lisbon. They dodged it because they KNEW we, as a nation had become more eurosceptic. They finally asked us in 2016 thank God. Those around who voted in 75 cast their vote like everyone else.

I think the quiet irony is that had our membership of the EU simply remained one of a common market trading block. The referendum may never have happened.
-
Don't think 'may' but 'certainly' wouldn't have happened. What I voted to join in 1975 bears absolutely no resemblance to what I voted to leave in 2016

Luxembourg is a tax haven, Malta is a tax haven, Ireland is a tax haven, but the corrupt EU votes not to include them in the new tax rules.http://panamapapers.buzz/2017/12/14/eu-countries-are-not-tax-havens-parliament-says/ …

You can add Gibraltar.

Netherlands has some loose rules on tax. Remember Bono trying to explain why much of U2's income went through the Country.
