but none as efficiently, in terms of cost at least

That’s what I always thought too but the figures suggest otherwise

Have only seen the Commonwealth Fund Report TBH.

Clearly not judging by her tweet

-
You misread my tweet. Try harder
-
Sorry genuinely don't get your point. Humble pie recipe at the ready.

Are you vying to be classed as being as reprehensible as Katie Hopkins or Farage? Here you go again- now it is the NHS that you attack. I presume it is to ensure that you do wind people up so that they listen to you on your radio show- in reality it just means most switch off!
-
I haven’t remotely attacked the NHS. I happily use the NHS & am the child of an NHS GP. It’s just not a public service that deserves to be worshipped. Most western countries have one.
-
My GP is run off her feet..I went to see her this week..I was in her surgery for 180 seconds if that ..years ago you would be in for 20 minutes...I went to the walk in centre once, the GP said don’t go there again, they don’t know what they’re doing..

£125bn. Hardly free, but worth every penny, and more.

She's celebrating what we have, and what most of us want to keep. Not making comparisions or saying "we're better". Just saying that this is bloody good and we should try to save it. Thank you

No, this is NHS worship as if it is unique in the world. It once was. But it hasn’t been for many decades.
-
I think as brits we gotta stick up for the NHS surely?
-
I agree, but when you see reports like this, makes you think someone in procurement is not doing their job correctly, or takilng back handers.http://www.theweek.co.uk/81055/nhs-paying-up-to-1bn-too-much-for-drugs-says-report …

The NHS tops the chart for avoidable death and poor health outcomes-if it wasn’t treated with the reverence of a religion by the population politicians would have been able to replace it with something better years ago-sentimentality dosnt help patients.
-
It needs fixing in areas for sure

Worked in our great NHS for nearly 40 years. Finest care institution in the world. Yes it's not perfect, but when you have made an elderly gentleman's final hours in this world peaceful and serene, then all its imperfections can be forgiven.
-
Of course it’s not perfect and no one should expect it to be so. Many in the NHS do fantastic work. But it absolutely isn’t the best in the world - by a long way. International comparisons show that every single year. Silly to make that claim.
-
The better ones have more funding. Cost to outcomes ratio, the NHS is one of, if not the highest (depending on the methodology). Please keep omitting this key point.
