Every council is facing massive cuts. Do try to keep up, you rude little man
-
So what the hell has this got to do with Brexit then you clueless arse !!??? Yes ! Councils have been on their knees financially for 8 years. Or have you simply subordinated any attempt at intellect to the ability to make some witty comment on Twitter?
-
I live in Somerset and doing fine thanks.
-
Ah ! The new spirit of Britain ! I have a kid with special needs and if I lived in Somerset I wouldn't be feeling the same way !
-
He probably lives in North Somerset or posh BANES and Bath.
-
Wouldn't worry about him Rhona. If you look down his feed its wall to wall ultra nationalistic, right wing, "everyone is wrong but me" ( and by the way I was in the services so you have to respect me) twaddle

Maybe try putting people incharge who have a business brain! I have relatives in the Public Sector and by the sounds of it more money wasted in depts.Councils are still run like back in the 50's! Just keeping the unemployment figures down drain the swamp!
-
You've clearly not been in any council offices lately.
-
No I've been self employed for 22 years but hear enough from my Sister who has worked for 39 years in Local Government and from other relatives too.

Presumably, this 'shortfalls' is EU funding that comes from the UK tax payer anyway and, if necessary, could be paid direct by the UK government if it thought fit?
-
In the greater scheme of things these payments are peanuts, ensuring payments which various parts of the UK currently receive via the EU are continued after brexit shouldn’t be an issue. The political cost of doing otherwise to save a few pounds could be very be high.
-
Precisely. Point is, UK Government and Parliament makes the decision and if electorate doesn't like it, can remove them. Whole point of Brexit..
-
All very democratic. The pont I was making was that Westminister neglects a lot of areas which get picked up through this type of funding from the EU, circular I agree, it will be interesting to see if / how thtat is maintained, or not. Probably not.

You live in a very surreal world, the government has been screwing the local councils since the con-dem but you're fine so let's not worry about the impact on the not so fortunate. Sleep tight.
