Er, and thank YOU @Femi_Sorry for not being another person you’re not either. I know, all us middle aged women look the same, don’t we? Oh, and for what it’s worth, one of the lines I’d never cross is to undermine the result of a democratic vote. You should try it sometime...https://twitter.com/Femi_Sorry/status/1032561886401847296 …

Also, side note, thank you for not being @Kthopkins (I was with yesterday). People often equate you with her and you do cross the line sometimes, but you do have a line. You truly believe you're doing what's right for the country. We disagree strongly. But we at least share that.

You keep up with the tripe about undermining democracy. Firstly, it it was undermined by the lying and corrupt Leave campaign. Secondly, it’s not undemocratic to make the case for a new vote. You’re so dim!

Project a Fear was done by Remain. Not sure of any Leave lies, all have been refuted.

We should probably talk. Putting the referendum result aside for a second. Why do you think we should leave the EU.

Many reasons; partly because the EU simply does not work for us, partly because I believe in less Government, not more, partly because I love Europe and its people, and partly because I dislike the left-wing nature of the EU. I also like to be able to elect/deselect lawmakers.

You can elect and deselect law makers. You do know how democracy works in the EU don’t you? Leave presented the notion that Turkey and Syria would be joining imminently, it played the race card good and proper and gave no context.

No, we do not elect the law makers, just the MEPs who cannot even suggest a law. They can simply amend.

Then you haven’t a clue about how MEPs work. Do you honestly think they just turn up almost without any prior knowledge and wait for some new and unknown paper to be put in front of them before voting on it? That may be the case with Farage, but then he hardly turns up anyway.

Tell me how I can get my MEP to create a law on my behalf. Fact is that he cannot.

You have to make a case for it, just like anyone else. Persuade, write, join a party, become an elected official... do something! How do you engage with your MP? Do the same. Talk to them. It’s not perfect so work to make it better, don’t cut off your nose to spite your face

No, bless you dear. You’re blinded by a very dim light which makes it impossible for you to see how members in the Commission appointed by each nation and our elected MEPs operate

We know how they operate and it is not as you describe. The law makers are the commission who are appointed. What part of that is unclear?

So how do we vote out the Commission and vote in others who will do a better job? I have never seen them mentioned on any ballot paper. Most people have never even heard of them and could recognise them in a line out of one ,yet they wield huge power.

As you well know, but some people seem not to, we can't. They are appointed by "heads of state/government" who are also not democratically elected for that role, and even then it's done under QMV
