Have you ever criticised vote Leave for lying, cheating and colluding or for campaigning in the days after Jo Cox’s murder?
-
-
-
Why should I?
-
You don’t think it undermines democracy?
-
I don’t think Vote Leave did anything wrong - and if they did, Remain did exactly the same thing. And I didn’t agree with campaigns stopping after Jo Cox was murdered. Vote Leave stated at the time they would only suspend major events, not leafleting etc. Nothing to criticise.
-
OK that one seems to fall into the category of fake news. So I'll use a pro-Brexit newspaper to refute it.https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/6797220/official-brexit-campaign-vote-leave-broke-electoral-law-over-referendum-spending-and-have-been-referred-to-police-by-election-watchdog/ …
-
…substantial evidence that the 2 groups worked to a common plan, did not declare their joint working & did not adhere to the legal spending limits These are *serious* breaches of the laws put in place by Parliament to ensure fairness and transparency at elections & referendums

Every time someone calls the Brexit referendum a ‘democratic vote’, somewhere a little democracy fairy dies. :(
-
And you’re an academic?! Jeeeez.
-
The side that won the referendum was found guilty of breaking electoral law. Now, I don’t know where you stand on the referendum result,
@JuliaHB1, but doesn’t it scare you to be living in a country where that can happen and the establishment doesn’t bat an eyelid? -
Clinging to this electoral law rubbish undermines your argument state what law was broken then see how petty it sounds rolling it out. The spending was disproportionate remain to leave so it carries no real outcry. Government spending x amount of tax payers money on leaflet is ok
-
As I keep saying to remainers instead of trying to undermine the vote and force leavers to change their mind try addressing the concerns that made them vote leave in the first place just like the remain campaign failed to do and THAT is the reason they lost.

You keep up with the tripe about undermining democracy. Firstly, it it was undermined by the lying and corrupt Leave campaign. Secondly, it’s not undemocratic to make the case for a new vote. You’re so dim!
-
I don’t think I can compete with you on the dimwittery
-
Halfwittery in your case

Sorry Julia, There are people who equate the two of you. I was trying to make it clear to people that they shouldn't. Precisely because I respect that you are a journalist with genuine conviction. My experience with Hopkins yesterday, just made me kinda miss chatting with you.

-
It was an olive branch Julia. A low-hanging one I admit, but still... Sorry if it came off wrongly.
-
I thought you were right tbh. But seeing how she replied to you has lowered my perception of her. However still not as low as Katie Hopkins.
-
I know, I was disappointed that my failed compliment was simply used to attack back.
-
I agree. I wonder sometimes why that happens so often. But some people confuse it for veiled hostility, if they get the reaction enough eventually they can see it as genuine. So although she may not have seen the hope behind it your message is a step towards that, so thank you.
