Cressida Dick says she asked her officers to look into whether Boris Johnson's comments about women and burkas constituted a hate crime. A preliminary assessment found it would not 'reach the bar' for a criminal office.

A man who no longer holds high office vilifies a minority within a minority in an attempt to keep himself in the public eye and advance his political career. Welcome to the UK in 2018. Happy with that?

I doubt many people have. They don’t need to given the amount of discussion about it. It’s almost as if that’s part of the plan.

And besides which, it’s in the Telegraph, so one would need to buy a copy or in my case pay for the online as I am out of the country. That’s quite some dedication to read a load of gasbaggery

You don’t have to buy it just register free online as I just did and actually read the article. If you do you will realise how ridiculous everyone is being. Just because some people are offended doesn’t mean they are necessarily right

I don’t think any religion should be above mockery especially when it is associated with such horrific abuse of women but his article actually advocated avoiding a total ban. My point was that people should at least read it before getting so offended

Let's see now: Did it 1) mention the word burka 2) in terms that didn't positively involve cultural enrichment and espouse the benefits of diversity? If the answers to these two question is 'yes,' that's apparently sufficient for a witch-hunt... (Or at least an excuse for one)
