One thing I take from Stephen’s story is that he has actually spoken to Muslim women, whereas you are a metropolitan ‘journalist’ (in the loosest possible sense of the word) passing judgement from the comfort of her ivory tower.

Lol. Yes, of course, I have never spoken to any Muslim women. Absolutely. Ever. Of course not.
-
Do you actually talk (and listen) to them, or do you lecture them in your usual haughty manner?
-
I’ve interviewed - at great length - dozens of Muslim women who wear the burkha and niqab. None of them has persuaded me. Your manner, by the way, leaves a lot to be desired.
-
You are taking the view that all Muslim women who wear the burka/niqab are victims who are coerced into covering up against their will, whereas the truth is more varied (as I think Stephen's thread highlighted so well).

If a woman is being forced to wear the burkha by her man, it must be good for her to know that she'll get zero help from the leftie luvvies in the West.

Incredible that you can read and listen to someone else’s tales, which you then contort to fit your own warped and extreme agenda. Being happiest at university in Swansea and walking on the beach DOES NOT translate to I’m only happy when my

I disagree. The key message to me was that it is not the clothes that matter but the person wearing them. We should value each person regardless of what they wear.

It doesn’t say ‘whipped up’, it says ‘whipped.’ And that is merely an illustrative detail in his story, the central message of which is that the women in the burqas did not come across to him as oppressed, but open and receptive.
