The only limitation Julia is your mind. That you would so easily equate those things says more about you than any of us.

Bless you for choosing not to engage with my point. I used extreme examples to illustrate the failure of your logic.

If you understood logic you’d know that using extreme examples does nothing to further proper debate & discussion.pic.twitter.com/2Rd23FO159

To be fair reductio ad absurdum can be a valid form of argument, and I think that's what she's claiming she was doing, but it was actually a strawman.

“There are already limitations so let’s impose more” because that doesn’t sound at all like stuff religious fundies come out with and what you’re supposed to be against

It's true, not everything we wear is socially acceptable. What you do not explain is why you believe a niqab ought to fall into that category while, say, a hoodie, or sunglasses, or a thick scarf does not.

Your argument is ridiculous. The limitations are based on whether or not it is a symbol of hatred. Swastika and KKK hood are. A burka is clearly not. This shit isn't really that difficult unless you are a massive racist twat.

You chose to do it in a way that suggested the sight of a woman in a Niqab, which she may well have chosen to wear, disgusts you in the same way as Nazis or racists proudly displaying their colours.

How were you on nuns habits,Greek orthodox, Rabbis attire, etc? How about crowns, mitres, staffs--the list is endless--but you zero in on just one example. WHY?

KKK/Swastikas etc are outlawed under hate laws.Under what law are we going to outlaw Burkas. Why do people feel its ok to dictate/judge/ridicule what Muslim women wear because of their own prejudices?Women shouldn't be judged nor required to justify what they wear

Like Turbans and the limitations Orthodox Jews have on clothing and hair covering? You campaign against those, too?

Wearing a Swastika or KKK hood makes you a racist, wearing a niqab makes you religiously devout. Not sure what your point is, but you made an arse of it.

i have no idea who you are but you're either a very stupid person or willfully ignorant and therefore dangerous. If you're too stupid to realise the difference between a genocidal sybol and religious attire then idk how you can be helped. or wait ... are you maybe just racist?

False equivalence aside, Julia -- is it illegal to wear a swastika or a KKK hood in the UK?

How do you mean? People are allowed to wear hoods and swastikas in America. They do it in parades. As far as I know, with restrictions on nudity, we are free to wear what we want.
