You are entitled to your bigoted views but I stand for the right of women to choose how they dress. It’s quite simple.

Well said Julia. This conflating of criticism (or even just expressing an opinion) of Muslims with prejudice is not only getting tiresome but it is also insidious. We can mock or criticise anyone's clothing if we like; we still have that freedom in the UK.

Correct. Hijabs/Burqas predate Islam by centuries, as does FGM. They’re cultural, not religious. A culture compatible with modern western values? NO!

i have no problem with head scarfs etc but a full face covering does not have any place in our society. You can not walk around wearing a balaclava or tinted full face crash helmet. Defo can’t enter a bank or airport wearing them. Same should apply for “religious” clothing.

I have a question. I heard a lady on LBC say she started wearing the Headscarf after 9/11 as did a woman where I work. I cannot for the life of me work out why. If you've never worn it before why wear it after the biggest terror attack in modern times. Serious question

I’d say they were making a statement aimed to antagonise others.

Iran in 1979 with the women protesting the forced wearing of the niqab due to the revolution. Much simpler times.pic.twitter.com/WFeScorNee

What is bizarre here is not the oft repeated claim that Islam is taking over the Western world, but the fact that a small but highly militant part of Islam seems to be taking over the rest of it without anyone doing anything from within?

Like nuns then? Are you attacking nuns now as well?

How many nuns have you seen lately?
