My daughter married a Muslim man, she wears a hijab
when she’s out with him or in the local area, where she’s known. Anywhere else it comes off , that alone should tell you wearing of it is not empowering or voluntary it’s enforced.

Both the women in this clip are Iranian. Plenty of Iranian women are challenging being forced to wear the hijab. Siding with these brave women is not peddling hate and xenophobia it is moral and logical.

Men dominate the lives of these women...they are born to be subservient to them...told they are only on earth to look after men and do their duty in providing sons....they would flounder if given freedom to do their own thing, they are lost to this medieval way of life

Women’s rights to wear what you want, “It’s law here” sort of gives that argument away. Classically followed up with “you have no right to be like this in society”! Handmaids tale on steroids!!

As ever, you make your case eloquently. Having a law saying what people must wear or must not wear is a hallmark of a repressive society and gives aid and encouragement to people like the nasty bigot shown in that clip. So glad we don't have clothing bans in this country.

This is what happens when a political and religious doctrine combines and runs a country. What is sad is that in the U.K. we are seeing more and more burqas (the most extreme forms of dress)

It's time all religion was relegated to hobby or lifestyle choice. Man made bs invented to control the masses!

How about this for a plan? If someone wants to wear a headscarf, don't make them take it off. If they don't, don't make them put one on.

In majority of Muslim countries women don't cover up, they dress modestly, which is the requirement of the Koran. Middle Eastern Gvts forced women to cover up, so Burka is a politically oppressive garment, not a religious requirement. Why then do women wear them in the West?

Women died in 20th century to gain rights for women 50 years later equality laws introduced In Middle East women persecuted by men forced to cover up murdered for not complying Why are women demanding 'right' to wear oppressive political garment in West? .https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2018/02/iran-arrests-29-women-wearing-hijab-protests-180202084416823.html …
