Julia Hartley-Brewer Retweeted Mr. Drinks On Me

This is funny but only because so many parents seem to think their child speaking like this is acceptable. If my child behaved like that at the table, she’d be sent outside without any food. As all of us would have been when we were kids. #Justsayinghttps://twitter.com/Mr_DrinksOnMe/status/1023100240436461569 …

And while I’m at it... vegetables aren’t a bloody “side” option. They are an integral part of any meal aimed at children by any self-respecting chef. Here endeth the lesson.

I moved to France 12 yrs ago with a fussy eater.I still marvel at the sight of French children tucking into exactly what's served for all.they Join in the salad and cheese course with enthusiasm.French parents just expect it and are still in charge.

Sadly even French restaurants now routinely offer a children’s menu consisting of just burgers and chips or pizza, with not a veg in sight.

No, no, no Julia, it’s the government’s fault our kids eat and drink the wrong things, also the evil food and drinks manufacturers that make their products literally irresistible. The parents have no power whatsoever!

Agree. No wonder so many kids end up overweight when fries considered main part of every dish and not vegetables or salad.

Must just be me, but I was rarely ever asked by my Mother what I wanted to eat. I was put on the table and that was that. There was no money for choices only good wholesome balanced meals. I dont think I am any the worse for it.

What is "grilled cheese with fries" when it's at home? Anyone feeding their kids that is directly to blame for the sugar tax.

is this abroad? I ordered the chicken in a restaurant in Rome once and got just that. One single piece of chicken. Nothing else. They didn’t even ask if I wanted vegetables, chips, etc
