Absolutely! Well said! Can’t think of anything more extreme than overriding a large exercise in democracy where tens of millions of people took part.

What’s undemocratic about more democracy? This extra referendum would be based on the actual leaving terms ie. the prospect of stockpiled food and medicines rather than dancing unicorns. What are you afraid of?
-
Why only a second referendum? Why not keep voting? Best of 5 maybe. And if people don’t accept the result we can always have another referendum.
-
I see what you’ve done here. You’ve ignored the argument that points out the flaws (legal and otherwise) of the first uninformed. Why do that? Can’t you see the gaps in your logic? Maybe not...
-
Sorry, but I can’t let your patronising comment about an uninformed referendum slip by. I and the vast majority of people understood v clearly what Leave meant. Your agenda is given away by your hashtag to stop Brexit. Stop pretending you’re a democrat. You’re not!
-
And now we’ve gone full circle. I’m not trying to unilaterally over turn Brexit. That would cause a democratic shortfall. But there is nothing undemocratic about a ref on the final terms. Whilst you may have voted for stockpiled food and medicine, not all 17m people did.
-
“I’m not trying to over turn Brexit” says the guy with
#StopBrexit in his twitter name. You couldn’t make this up...

-
Wow, great spot! Yes, I want to stop Brexit. It’s going to trash our economy for 50 years (see JRM) as is ruining life for 3m EU nationals that live in the UK. But I propose using democracy to do this. Where’s the problem?

There are MANY justifications for a 2nd referendum: 1. Vote Leave cheated 2. Too many lies in the campaign 3. Evidence of Russian interference 4. Everyone knows a lot more about the subject 5. The Govt can't agree with itself 6. EU itself is changing

You've forgotten the democratic principle that the people voted and you can't re-run the debate because you don't like the result

I've outlined several good reasons why the people must have a

1. Remain cheated 2. Remain lied 3. The EU will never change 4. The Russians proved to back Remain 5. 1.2 million more people voted to leave than remain.

Where have you been? Leave broke the law thus making it not democratic as all refs/elections have spending limits so they can't just be bought Can you explain otherwise? Respect? For a fraudulent Ref? Not a chance And your answer for the NI border?
-
Not forgetting that Brexit itself was a vote to disrespect the rights and livelihoods of millions. Leave voters like JHB insist they did that deliberately. She knew she was voting to destroy the lives of millions.
-
A lot of ppl who voted leave don’t mind hurting other ppl whether it’s splitting families with EU citizen parents or risking peace in NI or more deaths through homelessness from interminable Brexit austerity

Unfortunately for the flaky Brexiteers and their paymasters, large areas of the UK and the whole of Gibraltar said they wish to remain in the EU. Thus the result of the Brexit referendum, and subsequent calumny dawning on us, is far from the settled will of the electorate.

I don't have a problem with a 2nd referendum at all.
#PeoplesVote Vote YES accept the deal negotiated by PM = Out of EU with that deal Vote NO reject the deal negotiated by PM = Out of EU on WTO terms It's as simple as that. -
Or a third option to remain? What are you afraid of?
-
That's already been decided. Why do you want to go over old ground? You're only trying to dilute the leave vote so you get the result you want. That's why there will not be a vote with more than 2 options.
-
Because the first vote was based on lies and false promises (remember that red bus?) Add in some Russian money, then some law breaking by Leave, plus some changing demographics and a much changed geopolitical environment. Yeah, let’s ask again. Why not?
-
I thought for a brief moment you were going to come back with common sense debate, alas no. Just the usual pointless accusations of the remainiac fringe. Oh dear!
-
Ok, I’ll play. Which bit specifically do you dispute? Is it the bus and it’s Brexit dividend? (ONS has ruled this out) Is it the EC finding Leave guilty? Sorry, that’s a fact not an opinion. Russian money? Please help me understand.
-
Proof of Russian money??
