I’d happily execute the two Jihadi “Beatles” with my own bare hands but the Home Sec is wrong not to insist the US withholds the death penalty. Let them rot in jail rather than claim martyrdom. We must always be better than them.

We used to have a bit of common sense about this. If someone during WW2 ran off to join the SS we wouldn’t treat them as UK citizens with the same rights. We’d execute them as enemy combatants in a war zone.

Only 1 British citizen went off and joined the ss. He was brought to trial, sentenced, and jailed. His name was Thomas Cooper. Get your hyperbole correct.

Actually over 50 British Empire Citizens joined the SS , the leader John Amery was found guilty of high treason and he was hung.

They were part of the British Freicorps which were never officially part of the ss. Cooper was the only one who served in combat

The British free corps was a unit of the SS. You’re not really countering my point are you? Fighting for another nation is treason. Amery was hung for treason. Cooper was convicted of treason and sentenced to death, this was commuted - a bit of clemency , he should have been hung

They are no longer UK citizens. Therefore the UK has no duty towards them.

UK does not provide assistance to prosecutors in a criminal trial where the death penalty is an option. Does not matter whether they are British.

Giving them a life sentence would only allow them to spread their evil ideology in prison & recruit more potential members who don't have life sentences, who in time will be released into US communities.

But how many more would/could they radicalise, inside the prisons, who could be released and kill or maim when they are released?
