FFS. The England team didn’t “display diversity”. They’re just good football players. No one cares what colour their skin is. This obsession with “identity” and “diversity” is just a different kind of racism.https://twitter.com/britishfuture/status/1019525065912832000 …

'The England team effortlessly displayed patriotism and diversity, they inspired unity and good manners because they lived those values. Now it’s time for our politicians to do the same,' argues @sunny_hundal https://www.opendemocracy.net/uk/sunny-hundal/england-may-have-lost-but-it-gave-us-sense-of-unity-our-political-leaders-have-faile … #WednesdayWisdom pic.twitter.com/ugZ9zMETPt

But if it was up to you, Hopkins, and Farage half of the players' parents wouldn't have been able to settle in the UK.

Oh really? How many of them are recent immigrants from the EU - just a rough estimate?

Eric Dier and family moved to Portugal when he was 7. Aged 16 Dier signed for Sporting Lisbon. Free movement of people ?

British citizen not subject. Harry Kane's dad born in Rep of Ireland, all his grandparents born in ROI, all enjoyed benefits of freedom of movement in EU.

To be fair, the free movement of people between the UK and Ireland has been in place since the 1920's.

Not sure about EU but 6 of the players in the semis have a parent/grand-parent who is an immigrant - the capt is EU (father Irish). For premier league >60% are foreign players. The league has already raised concerns on how end of FoM will negatively affect it.

I think he's talking about the policies of the 1st #brexit crew (Enoch) - who is Nigel's inspiration. If their policies were installed - that team wouldn't be here.
