In the sense that you mean it, there aren’t many ‘Brexiteers’ in the electorate. Very few of the 52% thought that Brexit meant what you now claim it does (no single market or customs union). Most were voting to be better off & Parliament’s job is to try & deliver that.

Odd both the leave and remain campaigns repeatedly told us that leave meant leaving the customs union and single market - so pretty sure most people expected that to happen
-
We were told time and time again by both sides leave and remain that voting leave would mean leaving the customs union and the single market, those claiming we were not informed obviously were living in a cave at the time

Oooh never been called a bot before I must be going up in the world. Interesting thread but irrelevant to the claim that few leave voters thought leave meant leaving customs union etc. When both sides repeatedly said it did

I did - are you actually claiming that despite both campaigns saying voting to leave would mean leaving Customs union and single market somehow all the leave voters missed that? Which was the original claim I was rebutting

On our polling cards for EUref there was 2 boxes, I don't remember seeing a third box saying half in half out and pay £39b for the privilege, so Brexit doesn't mean Brexit ? Our PM has lied and insulted 17.4m voters Tory and Labour people.
-
That's because the referendum itself failed utterly to specify the terms of reference 'yes / no' = this Tory farce
-
It was quite clearly ONLY about leaving the EU. Nothing about also leaving the Customs Union. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Union_Referendum_Act_2015#/media/File:2016_EU_Referendum_Ballot_Paper.jpg …
-
It was made clear that we'd be leaving the CU, SM, and ECJ to be fair, it was all part of Project Fear.
-
no it wasnt. Farage said during Ref we might choose Norway option - in SM
-
That's contrary to what was being said by both the Leave and Remain campaigns then. Everybody was aware of what they were voting for, you cannot redefine what Brexit means.
-
I am sure that "everybody was aware of what they are voting for" at Ref. but where is your evidence that "everybody" voted for the same reasons re SM and CU as you?
-
You cannot leave the EU, and still be in the CU and SM, they are the the main pillars of the European Union.
