Well since you ask, I guess you draw the line between rejecting people for what they do and rejecting them for what they are.https://twitter.com/juliahb1/status/1011331432218800130 …

Ouch JHB, that's gotta hurt. The last thing that was publicly owned like that was British Rail.

His point is that you judge people not by the colour of their skin, but the content of their character. I know, it's a crazy dream!

You know full well why it wouldn't be okay because people choose their politics whereas no one chooses their skin colour or their sexuality.

It looks as if you don't understand what he means, though.

What *did* you mean then? If you're complaining about people taking it the wrong way.

For someone who makes a career out of writing she’s pretty shit at it

Its very simplistic to paint all instances with the same brush as is not listening to all these replies and having a cereal aisle fit until you get a response that suits your purpose. Thats exactly what the Trumpers do.

How do you differentiate though, are you saying its ok for people to refuse service to Nigel Farage if they dont like him? Surely then the same applies if for example you dont want to serve David Lammy. Dangerous grounds
-
Because David Lammy has no choice about being black. Farage has a choice not to believe bigoted and xenophobic things and not to encourage racist groups. To discriminate against Lammy is irrational, to discriminate against farage and his gang is not. This is not difficult.

It appears to me that you don't even know what you mean.... It's seems straightforward and plain to everyone else who read your tweet.

on an anal level rejecting muslims, gay people etc is rejecting them for what they 'do' this applies esp to things of choice e.g. not sexuality but certainly religion and in particular religious extremists
-
Religiosity isn't so much of a choice, as the religious have mostly been indoctrinated since shortly after birth. Hard habits to break, faiths tend to get em when they're young, whether it's dousing them with water or chopping the tips of cocks, cos it's hard to convert adults

If you’d typed what you claim to have meant then everyone would know what you meant Julia. Maybe delete it and type what it is that you really wanted to say.

You’ve been completely outplayed here Julia, just concede that you were wrong. I know it’s hard because you’re so up yourself but do try.
