I couldn’t care less where Boris Johnson is today. Heathrow’s 3rd runway will go ahead - as it should - with or without him voting or lying down in front of bulldozers. Until we can get the whole Star Trek teleportation thing sorted, flying is the future.pic.twitter.com/MYknukEYUn

I haven’t really taken much interest in this, but, my immediate reaction is - why not expand an airport further North, in the Midlands, or in the North of the U.K.? Spread the access, and wealth. Isn’t the South East busy enough? Just a thought.

Because we need capacity in Heathrow as it's the key UK hub. We need more capacity everywhere else as well. So we should stop p***ing about, wasting time and producing nothing but reports and white papers and just build 1 new runway on every airport in Britain.

That gated effect is becoming increasingly popular all over the U.K. you should venture further afield - in fact, if building an airport north of Watford Gap would encourage that sort of thing, ignore my suggestion.

Heathrow is an idiotic and dangerous location for an airport, check the shambles of its history, the worst example of British muddling and compromise

Plenty of other airports around London and Kent that could be expanded instead of turfing people out of their homes

Why not expand Gatwick? Or somewhere else? There are loads of good runways in SE England

Why not expand Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted and sort it out for a whole generation, it's private investment not state money so go for it
