A handy reminder to all those MPs planning to back demands for a “meaningful vote” on Brexit today: We’ve already had a “meaningful vote” on Brexit. It was on 23rd June 2016.pic.twitter.com/mZhVVQumbx

Great! So in 2016, we knew what deal we would be getting from the EU? We knew we'd end up copying the EU in the majority of our economic laws, leaving us less sovereign than EU members? Or maybe a sovereign Parliament should protect the 17 million/ 52% from that? #MeaningfulVote

Meaningful Vote is getting mixed with Informed Vote. Two completely separate principles.

That was whether to leave, not how to leave. Try to understand that simple point.

Correct, we had a vote, but was it 'meaningful'? Did people have the same knowledge then as they do now, did they fully understand the consequences?

The meaningful vote was meant to be about taking back parliamentary sovereignty , which seems to be falling apart at the first hurdle

I'm barely following the #Brexit coverage now - I voted Leave nearly 2 years ago and I have not changed my mind. It has been both shocking and troubling to see how undemocratic much of our society really is. Get on with it Mrs May or step aside for someone who will.

We know that millions of people are not out of jobs. We know that we are not losing £2000 a year or household. We know that EU wants an army.

Let's face it they only want a vote so they are in control, they don't like the idea of the little people having a say on policy

Errr no. We had a vote on leaving the EU. Brexit is a result of that vote. We have never had a vote on Brexit because it didn't exist then and it doesn't exist now.
