this is why i’m happy my husband earning more than me because at some point i’ll go freelance so i can focus on motherhood. I can’t wait to cuddle babies!

We had hardly any spare money when my children were little as I stayed at home with mine. It was hard work but I’m so glad I could do it. Think of all the lovely meals you’ll cook them!
-
I know
!! Having more time for cooking is something i dream about all the time. Also, soft play and mummy coffee times. I get giddy thinking about it. -
Soft play centres smell. At best! Mind you, so do children!

Why do these people insist on talking as though being a CEO or other high paying job is a more important and valuable choice than being a mother? My mother was never a CEO,& she's an incredible woman. I'm so glad that she made the CHOICE to stay home and raise me and my sisters.
-
I think the same about mine who went on to have a great career once my brother and I were older. I think it must be really hard to climb high up the career ladder then drop out to ’domestic chores’. I was fortunate that I wasn’t anything special so could easily stop working...

My mum stopped working completely. I think having a family was something she wanted for years. She worked part time a few years back at a child care centre just to get out of the house and make some extra cash. We're all in our thirties now.

Exactly. I never understood the revery held for work and feel its rooted in something unquestioned and misplaced. I can't wait to split staying at home with the baby with the wife. We fight over it because both of us want to do it. What could be more rewarding?

From personal experiences I wld agree with this 100%. It's striking how pregnancy/child birth so dramatically changes the attitude of well educated and ambitious women. I have never met a new mum who has gone back to work FT after 4/5 months who has been anything but distraught.

Children are merely accessories to such people as a new designer pooch or that must have handbag. They can't fathom dedicating one's entire existence to raising children and seeing them thrive.

Let’s face it some people have satisfying, enjoyable careers. A majority have ‘jobs’ that they endure much like a prison sentence. Of course caring for kids will often trump that.

I don't mind what family arrangements people make, as long as I'm not expected to pay for choices they make but can't afford.

A little reflection on the use of the word “Christian” in your biography may be in order after that Tweet

Please clarify?

Or child born. Grandparent provides care. Grandparents become ill & can no longer care. You don’t want to pay for that “life choice”

It is almost as if there is a difference between men and women.

Women being allowed to make a choice, for themselves and their children. This is unacceptable, it is obvious to any feminist that these women don't know what they want and are being made to do so by men.

If only we had grandparents present at home instead of assisted living facilities
