Obviously they can afford to do it, which means they’re probably champagne socialists on a ‘gap yah’ supported by mummy and daddy. How the other half live.

They are donating their wages to a good cause pretty much like a lot of West African folks did when they landed in the West Indies in the 17th century

How is this argument any different to unpaid internships? Rich family kids can afford to have unpaid internship and get significant leg up. If bar workers work for free, it means they can afford it and they rob someone in genuine need of income.

Julia, Julia, Julia. You just don’t understand. It’s only exploitation of workers if Tories do it. How can a trade union /socialist party possibly be exploiting workers by not paying them. Keep up.

So, not having NI paid on their behalf, or the company indeed paying employers NI? Seems a good way for the "employer" to get cheaper labour, if not exactly free.... I take it then, as volunteers, they could all decide to have a break at the same time, or knock off early?

No. Can you not grasp simple concepts? The is a worker's coop ran by Trade Unions. Its called Mutual Aid Julia, not something you get taught at Oxford. They voluntarily donate wages to good causes. Christ you're thick.

So they'll get paid and pay tax and then donate what's left to a "cause"?

Sod the people who need the work- we’ll let union staff do it and donate to charity. Wrong on many levels- write on just the one level.

Do the tips get donated to charity, or will they also not be declared for tax purposes? And which of the staff would decide which charity?
