UPDATE: Has been 7 days since @YouTube @TeamYouTube banned @StatusCoup from livestreaming for 90 days for supposedly violating @cnn's copyright (we didn't). We've consistently reached out in good faith showing how we didn't violate copyright...no response. Censorship at its worst

Hi there--unfortunately, since you've already deleted the video, you're not able to dispute the claim that led to your restriction. The restriction will last for 90 days from the date the content was blocked. Next time, the best route is to appeal if you think a claim is invalid.

This is a bullshit excuse. If someone thinks a claim MIGHT prevail (or even if they don't, but still for legal reasons), they might want to take their video down. You punish them for taking reasonable precautions against legal attack. Shame.

This is EXACTLY the reason I took it down. Even though I knew we didn't feel we violated copyright, I thought it was responsible to take it down (and it is not clearly labeled anywhere that doing so would result in loss of an appeal).

That's the thing tho. In order to resolve the strike the video needs to stay up until the strike is removed and then you can delete it. Why? Bc on their claim page the video no longer shows up.

That’s nonsense—YouTube still has deleted videos on their system.

Do you at least have the url tho? I have deal with strikes due to copyright and Ik for fact that you are not supposed to delete the video if you want to appeal. I have actually resolved many disputes by agreeing to delete the video after the claim is deleted.
