If you run for less than 10 frames, the game will force the run to continue for 10 total frames. We call this a "minimal run". The 2 frames after a minimal run DO NOT accept any inputs except for:
- A+B
- B+C
- C+D
- forward (continues running)

Therefore, pressing any direction other than forward or pressing any single button during these two frames will not cause any action to occur. Your input will be "eaten".

We call these two frames the "running recovery". All characters have this 2f of run recovery, except: - Nameless (3f) - Heidern (3f) - Kasumi (3f) - Benimaru (3f) - Iori (3f) - Yashiro (both forms) (3f) - Athena (1f)

If you run for 11 frames or more, then you hit f+button or d/f+button, the button will be eaten if the forward is still held down for precisely 2 or 3 frames. (the frame after f+button, and the following frame)

If the f+button is active for exactly 1 frame OR for 4 frames or more, the running button will execute as normal.

To avoid a running button from being eaten, the best method is to run, then switch your directional input to ANY other direction than f or d/f, (including neutral) then press the button.

If running a very short distance (10 running frames or less), then simply hit a button on or before the 10th frame of the run.

When attempting a running throw, your input has a chance to be eaten if you input it as: -> run -> heavy attack -> back This is because of the forward input being held. (See tweet #5 above)

To input a running throw, the f+button needs to be held for exactly 1 frame, because the 4 frame version will prevent you from getting a throw due to taking too long. Inputting back after these 4 frames is too late.
#KOF2002UM (10/13)Pokaż ten wątek -
To avoid this issue, input a running throw as follows: -> run -> neutral -> heavy+back
#KOF2002UM (11/13)Pokaż ten wątek -
Specifics on how throws are input: To input a throw, forward or back must be held for the 3rd and 4th frames after a heavy is pressed while in range.

The direction you input doesn't matter for the 1st and 2nd frames after the heavy, as long as they are not both an upwards direction (you will jump).
