    We developed just that: Safe testing. Tests that allow for flexibility in combining data, even with intermediate looks: with simple goals (thresholds) that still control errors (limit sampling to forgone conclusions).

    I agree with Professor Ioannidis: we do need gatekeepers and goals to promote good experimental design, reduce bias and thus control incorrect scientific conclusions. But gatekeepers need to be more flexible and maybe even allow for multiple goals in terms of stringency.
