I'm sorry but where exactly did Matt 'get rolled' here? He's correctly pointing out the circulator logic in how the Professor defines a woman and was never able to establish a definition.
This is not the win people want to think that it is. It's embarrassing.

Imagine calling yourself an intellectual, spending 5 years making a documentary, then putting in an editing joke stating that a professors thoughts on social constructs is too long and boring.

Or... OR... it was a means to advertise to the viewers what the viewers already assume; That you're about to get 10 minutes-worth of 'word salad' disguised as an answer.

The stated thesis is that he will not get an answer to "What is a woman?". The answers he receives here are a combination of academic word salad, "I don't know why you're asking this" and an objection to the use of the word "truth". What do you believe "getting rolled" is?

The professor correctly points out that Walsh is seeking an essentialist definition of what a woman is. Then went on to define a woman as anyone who identifies as a woman. That's a straight forward answer, but Walsh is not willing to accept that because it's not what he wants.

Walsh is looking for a simple answer to what is a more complex question than he wants to admit to. And he's kind of being a jerk here. The professor rightly questions his motives, and Walsh really isn't there to learn anything, just to play 'gotcha'. As is the whole film
