I hope Cate Blanchett wins the Oscar for Tár for the main reason that the time she won Best Actress for that Woody Allen film looked suuuuuper awkward and it’s all I can remember about the whole thing.
Will Writers Australia succeed where other peak bodies have not? Ideas similar to the proposed new Australian literary entity have been tried in the past, often with what could best be called mixed results #AustralianLiterature#WritersAustralia
Who do we @ when talking about Writers Australia? Want to ensure that comics / graphic narratives aren’t forgotten in the foundation (the ground level might be too late) of this new government literary institution.
Does it occur to Litmags that comics is “the written image” and that they should be supporting/including graphic narratives as well? From the outside it looks like it is all a bit hard. I’m aware of the many of the issues, but I’m convinced they can be solved if we just start.
Currently I’m mentoring a bunch of comics legends through Island Magazine’s Nanna Project and I saw some other mentoring programs through Litmags across Aus open up with lots of writer/poet/word mentors but no comics. When island’s program ends, will it all be over?

Grimmish withdrawn from shortlist for Christina Stead Fiction Award
Due to the fact that Grimmish was self-published before it was published at Puncher and Wattmann, the fineprint means it is ineligible for the NSW Premier’s Literary Prize for Fiction, the Christina Stead Award.
I didn't realise I had drawn all my double page splashes at the wrong dpi until the very end of my book. Was dreading it but going in and adding in all this extra detail ended up being a really nice way to finish off the project. Anyway, here's 2/4 of the double pages :)
