    Correct. And apparently to also intimidate and slow voters down using their cars to block roads and bridges, Bridgegate style, and to try to hold up, scare and intimidate voters. It’s pure thuggery.

    The entire game for Republicans is to slow the counting of early votes in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin-- then pretend that counting these legal votes is somehow cheating because they take a long time to count.

    Trump should enjoy these moments of feeling like an entertainer while he can. His surname is now completely toxic in the mainstream entertainment world. It's literally worthless as a licensing brand. He may have a show at some point on OANN or whatever but the Trump brand is DOA.

    Fisk’s works on the Middle East - especially Palestine and Iraq - had a profound influence on me growing up. I didn’t agree with a lot of his later Syria commentary but his Pity The Nation remains one of the great books. A true classic. RIP.

    This is from a guy who KNOWS what democracy means and who KNOWS what authoritarianism because he lived in both regimes. Believe me, I did too. Yes, democracy is messy, but that’s exactly what it’s attractive & far, far superior to any system out there. It is worth defending.

    Voting is not a privilege, it’s a right. On Tuesday, we’re giving our employees paid time off they need to vote, volunteer at the polls, support democracy. let’s build strong communities together.
