We manage to file our taxes through a combination of mail-in and online without incident. I can't imagine a reasonably advanced state election system couldn't use a combination of automatic voter registration based on school records or federal SSI records to mail ballots,

and allow people to verify online that their ballot was mailed out, return the ballot with identifying info replaced by numeric identification and verify receipt online. Ballot "pick ups" should clearly not be allowed to prevent schemes like the Republican guy pulled in NC...

but of course, you could retain an option to drop off ballots or fill them out in communities where they are needed.

I just genuinely do not understand why America is retaining this old fashioned system rather than innovating. Maybe the next president could try to hire

only bad reasons:republicans in wisconsin are greedy and racist and will do ANYTHING to hold on to their absolute power which they granted themselves after Tony Evers was elected. Note: every statewide office was won by a democrat in that election (2018).
