If every incel somehow got a girlfriend, the net violence in the world would only go up. Because guys who think like this are violent to their girlfriends. It's not their singleness that's dangerous; it's the way they think about women.

I will not call him broken and lonely as thousands gather in my city to mourn the loss of innocence. I will not shy away from calling out those who praise him as horrible bigoted monsters.
-
That's what he is/was. The fewer friends and close relationships people have, the more this will happen. Not advocating what he did or endorsing him. Somewhere along the line, we messed up as a society. Getting to the point where something like this happens is bad.
-
This isn’t a new thing. These people have been around for ages and are coming out of the woodwork more because they’re encouraged by online groups. This isn’t the fault of people who weren’t his friends (I’m sure he had some) or women who wouldn’t fuck him.
-
No, it's a consequence of late stage capitalism and neoliberal 'always growth'. I also doubt that he had many friends or acquaintances. Recent studies have shown people have far fewer friends and close relationships today than they did fifty, let alone 100 years ago.
-
So you don’t believe that being part of a group who actively try to harm predominately women as a specific consequence of not giving them sex is an issue rooted in misogyny, sexism, and a culture that tells men they “deserve” women?
-
I believe the only reason that group even exists is because normal social outlets over the last 75 yrs have failed as a consequence of technology and poor social policies, NGO and governmental. Feeling unwanted and discarded by societies means they feel they have little to lose.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4jFhFGg8co … Oklahoma is 75 years old, set in 1906, and has a dude with a very similar worldview to incels. Modern society isn't the problem.
-
My quick reading on it as I've never seen any of it. To quote an article from Google: "Jud is rejected by Laurey, flies into a rage and is fired. And then almost instantly after he's rejected, Laurey is engaged the Curly, the guy who tried to convince Jud to kill himself."

Why I should care about fixing their problems, when they embrace them as an identity? I care about preventing violence from these people, but you can't do that if you're not honest about the problem.
-
Why should you care about fixing any problems? The honest answer to the problem is that they feel or are lonely, atomized, and abandoned.
-
You thunk the problem is loneliness: it isn't. The problem has always been misogyny (and the entitlement and violence it breeds).
-
The San people are perhaps the most ancient group of humans current around. There is little doubt that they have a fairly patriarchal culture. Yet, they do not have an incel problem. It a modern problem and its main driving force is loneliness.
-
Nope, if that was the case, women would be angry pieces of shit as well, and there would be more men of color incels. Loneliness is part of the potion, but what causes loneliness is at least in (big) part misogyny--misogyny in a culture where women will not comply.
-
Aren't Western women some of the most medicated in the world for depression, anxiety, and other mental illness? It would stand to reason that the San are doing something right and we are doing something wrong. Maybe we could learn something from the San and their kinship groups.
-
Are Western Woman not also the most likely to have access to the kind of mental health services that are vilified in other cultures and here? Why exactly are you so determined to blame their choices on anything but them making bad choices?
-
You're quick to dismiss these people as losers who don't matter. I think it's wrong.

Forgive me if I believe it’s right to call the man who ran people (predominantly women) over, for the specific reason of them not giving him sex, killing a single mother and reportedly hitting a baby carriage, and all who follow and praise his ideology, sexist, misogynistic pos

Not calling them dangerous, they are dangerous. I'll stick to keeping as safe as I may. You can try to fix them.
