#Onward is in the same vein as ZOOTOPIA so your enjoyment will vary based on that. The voice cast is good but the emotional manipulation often feels forced to contain a thin plot.

I know a ton of peeps who love that movie so I don't begrudge them at all. It just didn't work for me.

I loved zootopia but I think I get what you mean about this. Would someone who lost their dad be a sobbing mess the entire time or is this just weak emotional jabs?

I can't really answer that since I lack the experience. As someone who has lost a close relative though I felt it was very small emotional impact.
