A research story with a twist I looked for a neural network regularization method that limited the number of non-zero node activities (L0 group sparsity?) I couldn’t find one. 1/11

Very happy to share our new preprint! Animals have a remarkable capacity to learn new motor skills, but how does learning change neural population dynamics underlying movement?

shall we start a religious war? = ) I dare to say are not truly Bayesian... If you start considering the posterior over your parameters as in by you get much better uncertainty estimates

So this really, really affected me - bc this still happens to me, all the time... & each time, I ask the same thing: "why?" Most traumatic exp. of uni remains a meeting regarding a project I initiated & led - prof didn't even look at me once, focusing on literally anyone else.

Earlier this week I posted 1st as PI! "Dysregulation of neural excitability replicates physiological and functional changes in aging visual cortex." 1st author Seth Talyansky's interest in brain aging sparked initial idea for project 1/N

Fresh on . Latent trajectory analysis of MT ensemble spike trains reveals mis-aligned subspaces of stimulus and decision codes. Collaboration with Huk lab.

Took me a while to figure out how to code a decorator pattern for pytorch, so I'll share the secret sauce def __getattr__(self, item): try: return super().__getattr__(item) except AttributeError: return getattr(self.decoratee, item)

Excited to share our preprint on the role of the NMDAR in upholding within- and between-trial working memory traces, including new data from schizophrenia and anti-NMDAR encephalitis, and a new modeling-based perspective on scz. Thanks , A Compte, J Dalmau!

A new version of a paper with Niloy Biswas and Paul Vanetti on how couplings help to quantify convergence to stationarity in MCMC, which can be useful to select a "burn-in" in practice; Niloy will present this at
