Not games but a weird career path. I was a retail logistics manager for almost 2 decades. Then got hired by the state and have had 4 positions in four years including a supervisor position, and right now I’m an analyst supporting most of my agency in a couple ways w no college ed

Teacher who blogs in free time --> Games editor for a start up site that never had a chance -- > freelancer --> foolish full-time freelancer --> Game Informer editor -- > PR working with Private Division and some other great companies.

I didn't start till I was nearly 30, and I dropped right into it after comics, so...XSEED. Then freelance, which has allowed me to work with some amazing companies, but also XSEED again. They were at my wedding, and they'll probably be my spirit animal till my funeral.

Pleased to see a lot of people say “volunteer sites” as that’s what I’m doing now. A bit older than most at 33 but I’m hoping to get to full time games media someday.
