No. GamingGate is 100% consumption-oriented identity being unaware that the problem is a world working to cultivate that identity. https://twitter.com/SenorZorros/status/927474509246066688 …

with all due respect, that's a matter of perception. there were scumbags on both side and the independent trolls often were the worst.
-
I don't honestly think everybody using
#GamerGate was a monster or anything but as the hashtag became toxic, idk why people kept using it. -
bit of tribalism, but of reclamation, bit of resistance against trolling. Are you a feminist? of so why do you keep using the tag after it has become toxic ;). . (for the record imo the hate of both gg and feminism is way to much)
-
I think gg had a bad start. A woman's alleged sex life made public and then people trying to get her fired for it. "Slut shaming."
-
people weren't angry at that. people were angry at the false dmca's, the collusion and the attack on the identity. gamergate is not the quinnspircy is not five guys. I'm not sure about the getting her fired. I'd need details.
-
also, quinn had a reputation for bad behaviour with stuff like the fine young capitalists and the polaris game jam. both attempts to do good ruined by her out of what sems to be spite.
-
If she had a bad reputation for something other than her sex life you should have left her sex life out of it.
-
Gladly. It's just that the moment people say gamergate anti-gamergate starts whining about it. I don't mind talking about actual gamergate instead of some vaguely related gossip.
