  12. Lived here for so many combined years and never previously seen a crane used to trim palm trees.

  13. And to those who know there are problems but are hopeful they'll be fixed... The system for 2020 is set, so start coming up with radical approaches to get them to change things for 2021 because so far, the evidence is that they don't even agree that there are problems.

  14. There are also a few who not only will give credit but will treat them like geniuses whose every decision is infallible. I don't think this is sincere, but let me just say that they plan on having any more "legends" invites to GM, so I think you can drop the act.

  15. There are people who will see the tiniest sliver of progress after a whole year and scream "hooray, they listened". It's like congratulating a professional runner for finishing a mile in 20 minutes. The progress has been a snail's pace.

  16. Secondly, I would like to call out a second group I'll call the sycophants. This isn't meant to include casters and professionals who work there who abstain from criticism, but instead the players and boosters of the scene who consider the team almost infallible.

  17. And I enjoy games that have a competitive system (even if I can't compete at the highest level) which makes Hearthstone not worth supporting to me. It's just kind of insane though as you can see the knock-on effects of having a terrible competitive experience.

  18. However, I think two other groups deserve some mention. Firstly it's the devs who have taken a totally hands-off approach to competitive. I think this is a conscious decision they're totally entitled to take, but if that's the case they should explicitly say so.

  19. In the past, I've focused some attention on the decisions by the esports team. They're an easy target in some ways since some of the changes made it clear they had either no idea or no interest in how the game of hearthstone is played at a competitive level.

  20. Today marks one year gone from hearthstone. It's sad to see another year go by with any meaningful improvement to the competitive system.
