I travel for work. I always discuss my pay to the permanents so I can educate them on how much they're getting screwed by their company. Sometimes I'm able to convince them to start traveling as well!

My supervisor accidentally left a new hire's ppwk on my desk, with that person's pay rate written at the top. This employee was entry level and would make more than me. When i mentioned this to my supervisor, she told me i could get in a lot of trouble for talking about it

Tell them they can get into a lot of trouble with the federal government for having a policy against talking about it.

It is also illegal. Has been since around 2012, I believe. Maybe a bit before. You cannot forbid your employees from discussing their pay.

Since 1935 actually, that’s when the National Labor Relations Act was passed. The look on my boss’s face at my last job when they tried to discipline me for discussing wages and I dropped that fact on them lol
