Deer in Nara, Japan are used to tourists feeding them.
Now, coronavirus has halted tourism.
And the deer are racing through the streets looking for food.

Deer do not "race" around looking for food. They are clearly spooked by the out of breath person running after them filming!

That's so bizarre bc just last wk there was a video of monkey's in Thailand also running amok bc tourists weren't around to feed them.

I was in Nara 2 days ago (it is fabulous). Please don't worry, the deer are still getting fed. Not sure what set this off.

Poor things :(
I live in a tourist area and feeding the swans is part of that here. They are pretty aggressive towards one another right now and one of their yearlings has been injured from all this infighting. Locals are trying to feed them more now to compensate.
My husband said they normally do this. Super aggressive deer w/ no sense of personal space. Run through the streets and will stick their mouths in your hand.
