^ this is a great take. But I’m biased because it’s the same opinion I had of his proposal.
It excludes the disabled, the unemployed, the housing insecure, parents in need, & the rest of people who are struggling the most because it subtracts your existing government assistance. This us why I think something more akin to "expanded social security" or SS4A is more appropriate to talk about too. It using the existing system to help the people who need it the most.

Completely agree, relative buying power of anyone on any kind of welfare is even weaker than before in comparison to those that never needed it once UBI replaces it, its too easy for UBI to be used as trojan horse to dismantle the welfare state. Could be a disaster down the road
