Could someone from @TeamYouTube or @YTCreators explain who are considered authoritative news sources? This is a cornerstone according to @SusanWojcicki “raising authoritative voices” but what does that mean exactly?
DramaAlert had a website and YT channel, but Google News really wants the website to be the one evaluated for whitelisting. The channel is just seen as an extention of the site. Which is why indie news sources that ONLY use YT are not likely to be whitelisted Plus $ is a factor

During the 2nd half of 2017 DA had every metric you would need to get in Google Prefered (top 5% in all of News in subs, views, and retention) we even passed TYT Never returned 1 call. Only a few emails until I knew it was a lost cause. They do look at reputation now

basically you have to be a print news org first, in order to even have a chance at being "authoritative"?
