Being a professional fighter at its core is about fighting. About taking your destiny in your own hands, knowing full well that to be the best is a place few if any ever achieve. It is a gamble on yourself, not clock in job layered with security. Want that, don't be a fighter.

I think many things that have raised costs to run a show like insurance, ambulances, and bonds are for the best. But the constant incorrect comparison of MMA to say the NBA or harping about fighter pay for opening to mid-card fighters is entirely incorrect and a waste of time.

Most smaller shows can barely run and make a profit and a lot of the US uses so called "amateur" shows instead so they can run a cheaper show and also have essentially pro styled fights without paying. This is a big problem.

To the MMA "community":
MMA doesn't need so much a straight "pay" correction as it could use a correction in contract structure and pay incentives. Contracts can be worked with, lack of sufficient market and competition cannot.
