    If we can all agree that football is a team game and a poor defense impacts offensive production, can we also agree that an offense that has the 2nd highest rate of 3 and outs in the NFL since 2014 hasn't helped the defense too?

    Josh uses team stats to discredit single players. Team scoring is exactly that, and Raiders defense and ST's has been terrible at scoring since DC was drafted. Plus the defense never gets stops or turnovers, which limits the offenses opportunities. It really is a team game.

    Brady had most on 3rd/4th down this year but Carr has most since 2014 with 49. Russell Wilson next with 43 in that span

    Who led the league in 3rd down throwaways? 1st & 2nd down throwaways are more often considered smart game management. 3rd down throwaways are more subjective

    Per Brady had most throwaways last season with 40 followed by Rodgers with 31 and Carr with 28

    Rodgers lead the NFL in throwaways in '18, Brady in '19. Carr was ranked with having the 9th most throwaways after 12 games this season, but I can't find one for the end of the season. It isn't going to be much better or worse then that, if at all. The throwaways are overblown.

    From 2014-19, rank 26th in points per drive (excludes special teams/defensive scores) and rank 17th in average starting field position (where defense/special teams gives offense the ball)

    Mostly agree with you. But as I told last year -- and he reminded me recently -- if the Raiders sign Tom Brady, I'll be at Napa for training camp at least once. They'll retain Bay Area relevance.

    W/L is a team stat. The coach and QB probably have biggest influence on it. Right or wrong, teams typically don't stick with a QB as long as have with Carr with only 1 successful season

    I was pretty young during Archie's time so don't remember if they called him great. I do agree that organization got the blame. Manning's OL had 0 Pro Bowl appearances in his career. have 8 since 2014

    The Raiders have been a dysfunctional organization for 18 years! Archie Manning (35-101-3) is in the Hall of Fame but played in a dysfunctional organization! So we're supposed to blame Carr and get rid of him once the organization get's functional with Mayock?

    Texans has one losing record in the first six seasons after David Carr left so I wouldn’t call that terrible

    Weird how after David Carr left Houston, they were still terrible, Tanny left Dolphins still terrible but he did ok with Titans. And the Raiders have sucked for how many yrs & how many QBs? If we get rid of Carr fine🤷🏻‍♂️ but don’t act like we would have won more last 6yrs

    The thing ppl don't seem to get, is that the Raiders team is a lot worse than the one that was fielded from 08-13. W/o DC, and with the QB's raiders had before on the current team, they would've scored a lot less than 28th overall. They had more picks than TD's FFS.

    You forgot to include WRs... they run too... But even with worse runnning game, defense and kicker around him, Raiders with Carr scored more points than 6 years before.

    And favorable or not average starting field position for the offense, which is a direct function of good or not defense and ST. Raiders 5th worst last season for example.

    A lot of that difference is because the QBs before Carr were better runners. Yards per carry for Raiders RBs: 2008-13: 4.2 2014-19: 4.2

    For those upset about 2016 technicality: If start Derek Carr in Week 1, they will be 2nd team since merger to start same QB for 7 straight openers despite losing record in 5/6 pvs years. Giants did it last year w/ Eli. But they drafted QB in 1st round and Eli won 2 SBs
