Rep Cawthorn recently voted “no” on legislation that spends $17,000 million on veterans services, including housing, and he has not introduced or cosponsored any legislation on housing for veterans.

They say DC is too small, or our economy is not diverse enough. Even though we’re bigger by population than two states and pay more per capita than any state; we pay more in total federal taxes than 22 states. No reason for this Congress not to right this wrong.

National vaccine trackers make DC look terrible: nearly last in the US in residents vaccinated & doses used. DC leaders say it's misleading, and went to the White House to try to get data changed to make DC look better. What's right? I tried to find out.

Heritage Foundation deciding to oppose self rule for Americans at the same time it defends the UK monarchy is an interesting retro brand play.

Statehood for DC is the moderate, reasonable position. If it were up to me we’d go further and have reparations (the DC Council gets veto power over all 50 state budgets for a few years to see how they like it).

Was it a “crisis” when there was a 690% surge in unaccompanied minors in Trump’s last nine months in office? Was it a “crisis” when he used the pandemic to expel 13,000 children? Instead of debating semantics, media need to better contextualize and explain how we got here.

It would be wrong to tag people in this quote tweet so I will just say if you read one thread on immigration, asylum and what is going on, make it this IMPT one.

Nice to see El Paso I guess, but remind me did do this when an an anti-immigrant terrorist murdered 23 people there a couple years ago, or was that not quite crisis-y enough

Like the WaPo article, the Sunday shows are overtly catering to a restrictionist messaging campaign.

And once again, many of the morning shows are getting basic facts wrong, repeating Republican talking points as if they're automatically true, and failing to examine the situation beyond a surface level. I know I'm a broken record on this but they need to do better!
