Facebook’s TikTok clone lasso is shutting down ahead of the Instagram Reels launch, so basically Fb lost 2 years by half-assing. Brb, gotta go save my zero Lassos

Just look at his track record everything is dead that has launched from inside of facebook’s lab, the only things functioning were not anything fb created in house, its ones they have aquired, not an opinion...facts. This is what Mark said about tiktok 😳🤔

Copying the “stories” format from Snapchat seamlessly integrated into Instagram. “Reels” isn’t going to work though. TikTok is explicitly about performance. Like all social media, Instagram is also a performance, but not in the literal (cringey) way that TikTok does it

Did they not port the code & learnings to Instagram?

Certainly some shared backend infra but I don't think they just ported it. Reels was more advanced
