Coming from a working background in social care, my career has been dedicated to supporting people with learning and physical disabilities. This working background has provided me with a deep understanding and insight into the issues that many people face in the North East.
For the past seven years my work in politics has had a focus on social policy, from shaping our Party’s policy on social care, drug reform and to LGBT+ rights and inclusion – I am proud of the work achieved so far – and I would be honoured to have your support in continuing
this work as an MSP and working at the core of the Scottish Parliament to deliver Scottish Independence.
I have served and represented our membership in various capacities within the Party. From being an Elected Member of the NEC, Equalities Officer for my local branch, running as a local government candidate in 2017, to serving as National Convener of Out for Independence.
I have enjoyed engaging with the membership every step of the way. Scotland is leading the world in so many areas, such as climate change and moving toward renewables.
As we look to the future, it is important we build on our success and continue our work in other sectors by further improving our education system and recruiting more teachers,
protecting our fishing and agriculture sectors against Brexit, and supporting GP provision across the region. Having been born and raised in the North East, I am delighted to stand for the Regional List ahead of the Scottish Parliament elections in May this year.
As a strong advocate for independence, I will continue to fight for Scotland’s right to choose so that together, we can build the nation we know Scotland can become.
