Or people are congratulating you on something that takes hard work and dedication? Losing weight is no easy feat and should be encouraged and congratulated

Why don't we just stop commenting on people's bodies like they are property instead

I openly talk about my weight with friends a lot. I appreciate encouragement from my pals, it actually helps and motivates a lot of people

That is a unfortunate side note of diet culture, and the fact we think we are better people when we are in thinner bodies. That is not the case. It is not acceptable.

I see both sides. The response to Adele should have at most been glad that she is now at a happy place with her weight. It shouldn’t matter what that weight is. I’m the same as josh though, I appreciate people complimenting my weight loss because it’s been hard for me

LAUREN!!!! Look at the size of me, I am clearly unhealthily overweight. I don't feel worthless and if others do it perhaps should be addressed in a different way instead of shaming others for paying a compliment for something that obviously takes a lot of work and dedication.

I really recommend you do some reading around this. Health At Every Size, by Linda Bacon is a good start. Internalised fatphobia is a real issue. Yoyo dieting / weight cycling is incredibly dangerous

The best thing anyone can do for their body is to increase their movement, without restricting food in take. HAES is a practice which opens up understanding of what out bodies can do, regardless of their size.
