When I was ten my 12 yr old sister found my mother's rifle and pointed it at me while we were home alone. I was reading a book on the couch. Her tween years were here peak nihilism so as I pleaded, she giggled. Then she squeezed the trigger and jerked the gun upwards.

Something similar happened to me, except the 22 long rifle went off and I literally caught a bullet with my left hand. Seven reconstructive surgeries and 36 years later and I still deal with a left hand that doesn't work properly. But, hey at least I lived to tell him he tale.

This is something my husband and I worried about, when our kids would stay with friends. Now, we worry for our granddaughters. The gun cabinet was either left unlocked, or the kids had access to the key. That's negligence.https://www.kwch.com/video/?vid=504905132 …
