I believe your able to check this box before you publish the video. Once its published you cant uncheck it or check it, it has to be done before. Side note, Youtube for sure hides videos, I think its content they want off the site.
do they hide videos, or channels? For ex : Lets say i start uploading content they favoured, would that do good? Or is my channel blacklisted so to speak.

In my case recommended videos is where most my views came from. They no longer recommend my shit, I get about .4% of views from subs which is ridiculously low. Allot of subs say they haven’t seen a vid pop up in years. This wasn’t how youtube worked back then.

Also viral videos just boost your overall channel and it seems to make them push you more. I think that’s mainly what they want.
