Do you feel that parents should have the option to choose circumcision for their son at birth? Please leave your reasons why or why not!

Unless there is some medical reason that makes it necessary (which is not the norm), no. It isn’t medically beneficial in most circumstances and is therefore elective surgery, which is a decision for that person when they are an adult.

This is my view 100% - though I don't limit this to surgery. Any elective body modification should be done when that person can make that decision him/herself

Might be the language barrier. Over here body modification refers specifically to things like tatoos, piercings, earrings etc.

What body modifications like that are forced onto people? I know that there are minors that have them, obviously just earrings or something like that, but I was under the impression that they get these voluntarily

That is terrible. Although I don't think that it causes permanent physical damage, but it is unnecessary pain for the child. Plus the infection risk

I oppose baby ear piercing too. Cutting off the actual earlobe would be more akin to circumcision. Still, unless there is actual necessity, it’s wrong. #i2
